The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.
GATE scores are used for admission to master's and doctoral programs, and for recruitment by public sector undertakings (PSUs).
GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE.
GATE 2025 is being organised by IIT Guwahati, which is responsible for coordinating the examination and related activities.
